About Dixon Bledsoe
Background
Dixon Bledsoe is a Silverton High School graduate who genuinely loved growing up in this quaint little town. He is a die-hard Oregon State Beaver fan having gone to Oregon State, and graduated with a B.S. in Social Science (Political Science major – trust me, you don’t want to get him started in this election year!) from Western Oregon University. He picked up his MBA from Willamette University’s highly acclaimed Geo. H. Atkinson’s Graduate School of Management.
Dixon is also proud to have served in the United States Air Force, receiving the Air Force Commendation Medal, Small Arms Marksmanship ribbon, and the pride of being a veteran.
Vocationally, Dixon has a deep and broad background. He worked as a Child Protective Service specialist for four years, investigating child abuse and neglect and providing both safe havens for children and counseling for their families. He has also been a starving commercial fisherman, a professional writer (still writing for OUR TOWN, this area’s bi-weekly news magazine), restaurant manager, and an expert in the workers’ compensation/medical management field, having served as Assistant Director for the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries for seven years.
Dixon also served eight years as Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of a medical evaluation company addressing the needs of injured employees, employers, drivers, and insurance carriers in five western states, handling everything from marketing and HR to government relations and contract management (over 300 contracted specialist physicians). He followed that position with one as Clinic Operations Manager for four years in a federally qualified health center, serving the medical, dental, and mental health needs of those who are low income, underinsured, uninsured, and homeless. a
On a personal basis, Dixon has been married to Lisa (Boediegheimer) Bledsoe for nearly 26 years, and together they are quite active in the lives of their two children, Briana and Trevor. Dixon has been a baseball, basketball, football, and soccer coach, and remains a sports junkie. He is an avid golfer with a mediocre game, telling anyone who listens that his golf handicap “is my swing.” He loves to fish, hunt, read, write, and sing, and working or playing with kids.If you are interested in real estate, for investing, selling, buying, or just living, Dixon is someone to know.
